- Please do not use the same password on different sites.
- Passwords based in personal information such as ID number, date of birth, family pet names, or any family member name are strongly discouraged.
- Make sure to purchase only on known secured online sites HTTPS:// Protocol-based. If you do purchase online please be cautious to follow up your bank account status.
- Avoid reading or opening any suspicious mails from unknown emails or links.
- Nowadays, our mobile phone contains several personal info such as passwords, bank accounts, etc. Always keep to yourself any passwords or secret patterns to access your mobile phone or to any services such as photo gallery, and keep on mind to restore to factory settings if you leave your phone for repair or to someone else. Deactivate geolocation.
- Ifyou are using a free Wi-Fi spot, be sure to navigate on non-important content only.
- Home Routers: Replace the original password (usually found under the router itself), change the SSID and upgrade the security using WPA2 protocols.
- Keep your software updated for better performance and experience of your PC, mobile phone, tablets.
- Upgrade and activate the security options in order to navigate sites safely: activate private browsing or “incognito” mode, delete cookies and sites history to avoid malware.
- Give yourself 60 seconds before you publish something on internet.
- Sharing your personal info may not only put yourself at risk but also others close to you.
- Do not share compromising content like photos or videos.
- Deactivate location tracker
- Don’t rely on social networks, even the most known is unknown. Configure your privacy to be only seen by your friends, those who you know in real life, the rest just consider them as just network “buddys”. Never publish personal info, such as where you live or mobile phone number. Do not ever share your user names, password keys or security codes.
- Dismiss any commonly used internet trap, such as:
– “Participate in this contest event and win”
– Watch this video! (famous person) you won’t believe what…”
– “Download this App to spy on your friends”
- “Big Sale up to % off…”Don’t do anything on Internet that you wouldn’t do in real life.
