During the filming of the silent movie “Quo vadis” directed by Arturo Ambrosio in 1925, 47 felines were used. To a privileged mind it occurred the idea of increasing the ferociousness by starving them for a number of days. Indeed what was achieved was that the lions were more furious and hungry. When they released the biggest of the creatures to film a scene the lion attacked a group of extras that were filming a mass scene at a nearby place and managed to put his claws on a poor individual.
